Litigation Support

The W Group has gained expertise assisting counsel in a range of complex litigation matters. In this ever litigious society, the need to accurately assemble facts and gather reliable information has never been greater. We have been asked to assist counsel both before and after complaints have been filed. Our experience has included cases involving intellectual property loss, fraud, sexual harassment, workplace violence, environmental contamination, and hostile corporate contests, to name a few. Our approach is to assemble the appropriate professionals and tailor each assignment in order to best assist counsel in the matter at hand. For example, experts have included computer forensic specialists, accountants, bomb technicians, clinical psychologists, and behavioral scientists.

Experience:

• For a large European telecommunications firm, we assisted the legal team develop evidence and screen potential witnesses. Through extensive computer forensics, a comprehensive review of other physical evidence and file material, combined with numerous interviews, we helped the legal team successfully develop evidence concerning the misappropriation of intellectual property.
• For a large law firm specializing in high technology cases, we located and secured critical trial evidence including computers and software at the core of the dispute. In one task we located a previous generation machine which was still in working condition. This particular machine was considered “obsolete” for over ten years.
• For a Midwestern manufacturing concern, we developed evidence demonstrating that a vendor partner had illegally infringed upon patents and was using client blueprints and intellectual property in violation of contractual agreements.
