As a result of the recent corporate scandals involving Enron, WorldCom, Adelphia, Tyco and a host of others, transparency and corporate governance has become a top priority. With the implementation of regulations like the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, officers and directors at public companies are now required to certify that they have established, maintained, and regularly reviewed, appropriate internal controls that ensure the accuracy of financial data reported by the company.
The W Group has performed a number of business control and internal compliance reviews for a range of Fortune 500 firms. We analyze and evaluate existing or planned control systems within an organization, identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, and make logical suggestions to implement effective change. Recently, we have performed a number of post-media spending audits aimed not only at the efficiency and accuracy of the spending, but we examined the existing internal controls that were intended to ensure compliance with the plan.
