The W Group was founded in January 2000 by Scott A. Wilcox and Michael G. Wagner, veteran corporate investigators with more than 60 years combined experience providing information based solutions for clients all over the world.

Mr. Wilcox and Mr. Wagner previously co-managed the Northwest investigative practice for Pricewaterhouse-Coopers. Prior to that time Mr. Wilcox managed the Bay Area operations for Kroll Associates, a leading international investigative and risk management firm; Mr. Wagner had enjoyed a 25 + year career a national award-winning journalist with the Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, and the Detroit Free Press.

The W Group, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, oversees and engages the services of 80-100 affiliated professionals around the globe. Specialists include veterans in the fields of investigations, supply chain management and logistics, computer forensics and IT design, forensic accounting, law enforcement, physical security and investigative journalism.

The W Group is professionally afflilated with  Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA), Alliance for Gray Market & Counterfeit Abatement (AGMA), International Cargo Security Council (ICSC), and the Association of Operations Management (APICS).
